How to get to the Institute of Physics | University of São Paulo

Subway 
The best way to get to USP is to get off at Butantã station (yellow line) where you can catch one of the circular lines at the terminal itself.

​

Bus
There are several lines that reach the university city (those that enter USP are called Butantã-USP or Cidade Universitária) and you can catch them at various points in the city, on Av. Rebouças, Rua Teodoro Sampaio, Terminal Parque Dom Pedro II, between others.

Guarulhos Airport

Just take the intercity bus line 299 São Paulo - Guarulhos (Metrô Tatuapé – Terminal Norte) at the airport bus terminal. Arriving at the Tatuapé metro, just take the train towards Marechal Deodoro and get off at República station which gives access to the yellow line (Butantã station).

The Expresso Aeroporto train is a great option for traveling between Guarulhos airport and the city: it costs just R$4.40 (and allows free connection to the subway and other CPTM trains). There are two embarkation and disembarkation points in São Paulo: Barra Funda station, in the west zone and Luz station, in the Center. From Luz station you have access to the yellow metro line (Vila Sonia) which takes you to Butantã station, which is 15 minutes from USP by bus.

Congonhas Airport

By bus you can take line 576M-10 Pinheiros in front of the airport, on Washington Luis and get off at Av. Brigadeiro Faria Lima, 2705, from there, take one of the buses: 7181-10 or 107T – University City. By Metro: In front of the Airport, take any bus that goes towards the São Judas station and board the metro towards Tucuruvi and get off at Ana Rosa station. Change to the green line and continue to Consolação station. Change to the yellow line to get to Butantã station.
